Rwanda Girls Initiative for Citi Private Bank

My roles: Creative direction, shoot direction & project lead

The Rwanda Girls Initiative provides world-class secondary school education for girls in Rwanda. It built the Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology to increase educational opportunities for girls on the belief that doing so is the best, most effective way to improve society.

The positive societal effects are widespread: it increases the economic earnings and productivity of a woman as she reaches adulthood, it increases the health of both herself and her children and it’s a key component to ending the cycle of poverty.

This film explores the school’s origins and purpose as told by Suzanne McGill, Co-Founder and President of Rwanda Girls Initiative. Made at Publicis Media for Citi Private Bank as part of a series about Private Bank customers who use their wealth to progress society.
